If i could rate Drive Card issued and serviced by Citibank, N.A. a zero I would. I experienced a terrible dispute resolution. Instead of resolving the issue, under the fair credit billing act related to defective workmanship and negligence. The representatives at the bank gave me the runaround and repeatedly failed to provide the personal credit I am entitled to. The unwillingness to properly investigate is incredibly disappointing and offensive. I strongly encourage anyone to thick twice about doing business with Citibank credit card services.

I have had this card for several years. Prior to being city discard was great to have anytime I use my card. I pay it off in full the next month today they close my card for no reason other than a bank decision which will negatively impact my credit. The account has never been passed due. It is an excellent standing, but with a zero balance for no reason they closed. Do yourself a favor and don’t get this card.
Very disappointed with CitiBank after the transition from Barclays. I’ve been unable to create my online account, since I lost my card a representative told me that I needed to wait for my new card to be able to create an account. It’s takes 4–6 weeks for the replacement card to arrive. This has made it impossible to access or manage my account during the transition. Due to that situation I missed a payment that will be reported to my credit report plus a late feed. Yes, they will send a letter explaining why, but the why don’t matter to me. The process has been frustrating, Customers should not lose access to their accounts for over a month because of delays in mailing a card. There most be other way, like using SS #. Much better communication and faster service are needed.

It took us several phone calls contacting two different entities to discover that the card had been canceled due to non-use. The whole process took about two hours. Disorganized and inefficient organization.
This bank is garbage! They will cut your limits for no reason dropping your credit score!

I've been a card holder for years...We wanted to alert Citi that we were traveling outside the country so that they wouldnt flag the card as fraudulent. Hours and hours on the phone to no avail and with no resolution. Just the same old company line over and over and over.. then we tried the chat feature on their website. Nothing. Remember, all I wanted to do was to set a travel alert, that's it. Finally, I grew so frustrated that I simply cancelled all of our three cards and will never do business with Citibank again. Such a simple request, so much wasted time. Now, I'm satisfied to do business with my other cards, but I'll never do business with Citi again.

My American airlines credit card was changed from Barclays to Citibank. I have had nothing but trouble since day one of the change. First, I could not get any transactions to go thru using my card. Then when I contact Citi, they said it would take 6-8 weeks to get the new Citi American airlines card. Then I find out that my final bill from Barclays, which was on Auto pay, would not be processed. Causing late fees. When I set up autopay with Citi I chose to pay the statements in full and instead, they processed the minimum payment. Weeks after the change over, I still can't use my credit card!! This has been the worst experience with a credit card that I have had in 40 years. Cancelling the card, no amount of miles is worth the headache I get from this company. Would like to give me no stars, their service is so bad.

El 18 de Mayo se vencía mi CD . Tenía un periodo de Gracia de 7 días y el día 22 a las 12 me volvieron a renovar el CD sin mi autorización !!! Yo había programado redistribuir el dinero el día 23. Inmediatamente llamé y me dijeron que no podía hacerse nada . Fui al Banco 3 veces y lo mismo. Increíble que hagan esto sin enviar un correo o avisar previamente. Tengo 20 años en Citi y hoy el Gerente de la sucursal me dijo lo mismo. Para recuperar el dinero tuve que pagar la penalidad completa sin ningún tipo de consideración. Muy frustrada y decepcionada. Trataré ahora de sacar del Banco lo que pueda e irme cuando me sea posible

Citibank is actually worse than people say.
I was a customer for more than two decades. Twenty-one years. I trusted them with my money, my history, and my family’s financial life.
At the time, I was living in South Africa and preparing to return to the United States. My family was in the middle of buying a home. This was not some casual transaction. This was the house we were trying to secure as part of rebuilding our lives in America.
Then, without warning, Citibank froze my account.
Right in the middle of the home purchase.
Suddenly, I was staring at the possibility of losing a $50,000 deposit. Not because I had done anything wrong. Not because there was fraud. Not because I had failed to provide information. But because a global bank had decided to lock me out of my own money at the worst possible moment.
It was one of the scariest episodes of my life.
I remember sitting in South Africa, thousands of miles away, trying to stay calm while the clock was running down toward closing. My mind was racing. What if the deal collapsed? What if we lost the deposit? What if I couldn’t get anyone at Citi to care? What was I supposed to tell my family?
I finally got someone on the phone. I explained everything carefully: I was overseas, I was returning to the U.S., I was buying a home, and my deposit was at risk.
The representative listened politely.
Then he said, almost casually, “I can’t help you.”
And he hung up.
That moment was surreal. I was not just frustrated. I was stunned. I felt trapped. Here I was, a 21-year customer, in a financial emergency created by the bank itself, and the person on the other end of the line simply abandoned me.
At that point, I felt I had no choice. I had to fly from South Africa to the United States just to try to unlock my own account. A sixteen-hour flight across continents to deal with what Citibank treated as an “administrative” issue.
I landed in the U.S. with about a week before closing and went straight to a Citibank branch in Washington, D.C. I walked in hoping that once a real person saw me, saw my identification, heard the urgency, and understood the stakes, common sense would prevail.
It did not.
The branch manager looked at me and said, “I can’t help you.”
She didn’t escalate. She didn’t investigate. She didn’t even appear to try.
I left that branch feeling panic rise in my chest. The closing deadline was approaching. My family’s home was hanging in the balance. My money was frozen. Citi’s own people were shrugging their shoulders. I remember thinking: How can a bank this large be this helpless? How can no one inside this institution take ownership of a crisis they created?
Desperate, I got on Google and started researching frozen Citibank accounts. I found a story from another customer who had gone through something similar. In that story, the customer mentioned a specific branch manager at a specific Citi branch in D.C. who understood why accounts were being frozen and had actually helped him.
So I drove there.
That decision changed everything.
The branch manager I met at that second branch was exceptional. He listened. He understood the urgency. And then he went to war with his own institution on my behalf.
He called one person after another inside Citibank. Three, maybe four different people. Each time, he calmly but firmly explained the situation:
“This man has been a Citi client for 21 years.”
“He is here in my branch right now.”
“He has his passport and all appropriate identification.”
“He cannot afford to fly back to South Africa and wait for a letter with instructions on how to unlock his account.”
He kept pushing. He kept explaining. He kept refusing to let the bureaucracy win.
In that moment, this branch manager — a man with a thick Jamaican accent and more common sense than the entire global machine behind him — became my hero. I remember thinking: This man may be the most valuable person in Citibank’s entire global franchise.
He saw the human being inside the transaction. Citi did not.
Eventually, because of him, my account was unfrozen. I was able to close on my family’s house.
But I never forgot what happened.
When I reflected on the entire ordeal, my conclusion was simple: Citibank should not be in retail banking. Not if this is how they treat long-standing customers in moments of genuine need.
A few months later, I closed my account and ended a 21-year relationship.
When I needed Citibank most, they threw me under the bus. They forced me to fly sixteen hours across continents to resolve a matter that should have been handled with basic competence, urgency, and humanity. No one from Citi ever called to apologize. No one acknowledged the fear, the cost, the disruption, or the risk they created.
As far as I’m concerned, Citi did not deserve that branch manager.
And they certainly did not deserve me — a loyal customer of more than two decades.

I have been a Citi diamond customer for over 15 yrs. Never missed a payment always had good standings. Just pay of a VERY big balance on this card after speaking to a rep last week and then get a bill for $242 in interest. Now I understand interest accrues but I told the rep I did not want another rep and to tell me what I need to pay. I just called Citi and spoke to a manager and they're telling me they cannot do a courtesy or anything to work with me to get that $242 worth of interest off after I just paid over $15,000 off of the card. As a loyal customer for over 15 years. This card does not work with you anytime you ask. I would not recommend this card if you have other options and good enough credit to get a different one. They don't seem to care about customer service because I told them I was going to write a review about it and she said you do what you have to do basically so they don't care about you or your loyalty and being a good customer that doesn't matter today they just want their money. I will be closing this card after 15 yrs and they clearly don't care. I write this because I don't they deserve good loyal credit worthy cards get another one if you can they don't deserve good business. Stay away from Citibank!
Worse experience ever! Was approved, nice line of credit. Went to call customer service for 2 balance transfers. This is when everything fell apart! The first rep could not be heard over the static on her line. Called back, got John, no common sense. Was on the phone for over 35 minutes and did one transfer. The second one had a letter in the number-they could only process all numbers- kept putting me on hold. Ridiculous, poor service! I would rather pay off everything than trust that they can do anything correctly.Closed the account as there are other companies that I can offer 12 mos if I choose to do so…….Never again will I fall for a great offer like theirs as what good is it if they cannot follow-through!
If I could give Citi Bank a -10 I would. Worst customer service, The prompts don't work and will hang up on you, if you do get a agent, unless your from India you will not understand a word they say then get "disconnected". Wait times are like 1/2 hour or more, constant security issues. I have 2 Chase Visa's for over 10 years and never have a problem. Get any other CC other than a Citi Bank. Trust me on this and save yourself a ton of grief before cancelling your account.
